Introduction to Combinatorics

  1. Given a Set of Distinct Objects/Type of Objects, Combinatorics is the study of
    1. Selection and/or Arrangment of the Set/Subset of the given Objects/Object Types. Each Different/Unique Selection is called a Combination. Each Different/Unique Arrangement is called a Permutation.
    2. Counting the Number of ways Selections and/or Arrangments can be made from the Set/Subset of the given Objects/Object Types (i.e. Number of Permutations and Combinations).
