Distance Travelled by an Object over a Path / Trajectory

  1. Distance Travelled by any Object over a Path / Trajectory can be calulated by Integrating the Scalar Function given by the Speed of the Object with respect to time over a given time interval. Thus, for any Object A, the Distance Travelled by any Object over a Path / Trajectory \(D_A\) is calculated as follows

    \(D_A= {\Large \int_{t1}^{t2}} S_{A}(t)\hspace{1mm}dt\)   ...(1)

Please note that it is same as Finding the Length of a Curve given its Parametric Equation.
